Who We Are
Creative Teaching Press (CTP) is a family-owned and teacher-managed supplemental educational publisher serving children ages 3–14, grades PreK–8.
We offer classroom décor and research-based, teacher-tested learning resources for teachers, parents, and students. Our materials support subjects including phonics, reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.
Everything we create begins with a simple question:

Our Story Began in a Classroom
In 1965, California classroom teacher Luella Connelly was looking for creative resources that could support learning beyond the textbook.
After 17 years in the classroom, she created Recipes for Creative Writing, a box of writing prompts designed to help students strengthen their skills in an approachable and engaging way.
That first box became Creative Teaching Press.
The Sticker That Changed Everything
In 1977, Creative Teaching Press introduced its innovative Scratch ’n Sniff reward stickers. The response was phenomenal, with teachers, parents, and students around the world buying and collecting them.
The Scratch ’n Sniff phenomenon became an important milestone in the CTP story and helped the company expand its reach and product offerings.
