Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and whether you are in the classroom or at home doing virtual learning...there are still plenty of ways to celebrate the holiday by doing some fun activities with the kiddos. Even though the holidays look different during these times, we still want to help make the best of it and find ways to have fun!
Here are some ideas of Valentine's Day activities you can do with your students!
1. Valentine's Day Scavenger Hunt
This would be a fun activity that can be done in person or virtually! You can give them fun prompts like "Find something that has the word 'Valentine' on it" or "Find something that is the color red" or "Find a heart" etc. If you have one of our heart borders in view this one could be easy! There are so many possibilities with a scavenger hunt, and it also gets kids up, moving and thinking!
2. Valentine's Day Themed Bingo
This is a classic, easy game that can also be achieved anywhere! Set up your bingo board and use our Llama Valentine stickers as the bingo markers. The kids will love it and it's a fun game to get into the holiday spirit!
3. Valentine's Day Charades
Another fun game idea that can be done in person or virtually! If you are in person, you can give each student a clue on their desk for them to act out in charades. This way not all the hands are reaching into the same spot for a piece of paper! If you are virtual learning, you can send the student their clue in a private chat for them to act out on Zoom. The clues can also be things that are Valentine related, but the possibilities are endless!
4. Valentine's Day Read Aloud
This is an easy and fun way to get into the holiday spirit, and of course can be done anywhere too! Choose a Valentine's Day book or story to read out loud to your students. We have our Learn to Read book "Celebrating Valentine's Day" which is perfect for younger kiddos and beginner readers.
