Secret Recipe for an Easy Valentine’s Day Party

Secret Recipe for an Easy Valentine’s Day Party

Let's be honest. If you're a teacher, the last thing you need to add to your plate is a complicated party theme. Don't worry we're here to help. You won't always have a super-committed parent to volunteer for making this party happen, so it's best to keep something in your back pocket.

We have put together a "Secret Recipe" for a quick and easy Valentine's Day party, and we call it the "Hearty Party." Essentially, this party is a dance, and here are the simple steps to make it a reality:

  1. Send a note home to parents explaining that you will be hosting a dance and would like their kids dressed in their fanciest attire the day of the party
  2. Find a disco ball by asking parents or by making a large hanging ornament to hang over the middle of the dance floor
  3. Ask parents to donate treats and drinks

Here are some examples of good treats for Valentine's Day:

Do you remember taking those awkward photos in front of cheesy backdrops? Well, we suggest making one like in the photo below. During the party, provide a photo booth where the kids can get their pictures taken by a parent volunteer. Given that they have on their fancy clothes, the kids will be super excited for this feature! (LEVEL UP by using a Polaroid camera and create a wall of the photos to commemorate the day.)

When it comes to the day of the party, get the kids dancing to some age-appropriate music and set up some arts and crafts for the kids who might not want to dance.  A good activity, for example, is the Alphabet Roll. Use a large heart cut-out for each individual game board. Write 10 random letters on each heart. Then make small letter cards or balls and place them in a festive bucket. Pull out letters at random and call them out bingo-style until a player has covered every letter on his or her heart.

Throwing a party doesn't have to be difficult; it just requires a little bit of preparation. You can start preparing with a 15% discount on all of our Valentine's Day related products by submitting your information below.
