User-Friendly Manipulative Math Activities
Bring abstract math concepts to life with the enriching activities in Hands-on Math. This supplement to any Grade 4–5 math program is built on the premise that students learn math concepts best through concrete experiences. Use this resource to cover standards with a hands-on approach, and watch students engage in meaningful math experience while having fun.
The activities in Hands-on Math are divided into five main sections based on standards from the National Council of Teachers of Math (NCTM):
- Number and Operations (including Estimation and Fractions)
- Algebra
- Geometry
- Measurement
- Data Analysis and Probability
The lessons throughout the book help students build mathematical thinking and also encourage students to make connections across math content. As students have fun working with dice, beans, and other manipulatives, they will also learn and reinforce important math skills.
