Exploring Word Families features lessons and games designed to help students use word patterns to establish the link between oral and written language-an essential skill for beginning readers! Students will use onset and rime dice and spinners, and word cards; play sound, letter, and word games; and participate in various other whole-group and center activities that encourage them to explore letter patterns in word families and manipulate sounds to create new words.
