Fluency develops gradually over time and through practice. You can help your students become more fluent readers in two ways:
- Provide students with models of fluent reading.
- Have students repeatedly read passages aloud as you offer feedback and guidance.
This resource provides 24 complete lesson plans to assist you in meeting these instructional goals. The lesson plans coordinate specifically with the 24-book Reading for Fluency student reader series. The lesson plans include reproducible versions of the text from the readers in a Partner Reading or Reader's Theater format, along with direct instruction on how to model fluency and assess student progress.
